Nick and I met in 9th grade. He immediately caught my eye in the hallway on the first day of school – to me he was the cutest boy in school. Unfortunately we didn’t have any classes together, I didn’t even know his name.
It wasn’t until halfway through the school year that I decided to take action and find out who my mystery boy was. It wasn’t easy considering no one knew how to pronounce his last name (Capriolo, CAP-REE-O-LOW). Finally a mutual friend gave me his Instant Messager account name and I IM’d him that night (So technically you could say we met online). We set up a time to meet in-between classes and the rest is history.
In Nick’s own words “’Love at first sight’ isn’t a term I often use, however, I instantly knew there was something special about this girl.”
We remained together through high school (we were even named “Cutest Couple” for the yearbook) and college. Growing closer and more connected as these fundamental years passed; we helped each other become adults and face real word challenges.
In our senior of college, slightly less than 7 years after we had first met, Nick proposed. It was a Tuesday, I had just gotten out of Biology class and had a 3 hour break before a marketing class. We were at our favorite Chinese restaurant (where we went every Tuesday between this gap time). I noticed he seemed anxious and impatient, but at the time I just thought he was really hungry (Not too far of a stretch if you know Nick). When our meal was over our fortune cookies arrived. I grabbed mine and quickly opened it. I had to reread it several times to understand exactly what it said… finally it dawned on me what was happening – I looked up to see Nick kneeling beside with a ring box in his hand.
We were married on October 27th 2012 in Charles Town, West Virginia. We had a beautiful catholic church ceremony at our church St. James the Greater, and a wonder reception at the Clarion Hotel in Shepherdstown WV.
We couldn’t have done it without the support of our families:
Our wedding was an amazing day that flew by far to fast. I know in Nick I found my prince charming and I’m loving the happily ever after that has come.
